Jesse Gordon "Don" Cantey, Jr., 71, husband of Viriginia Cooper Cantey, passed away at his home on Wednesday, September 18, 2024.

Mr. Don was born in Hemingway, SC, the eldest son of the late Jesse Gordon, Sr and Marguerite Richardson Cantey.  He was a graduate of Hemingway High School.  Mr. Don attended Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and was a former Master Mason of the Indiantown Lodge #165.  He worked as the Parts Manager at Nissan of Florence for many years.  He finished his career at Long Street Chevrolet in Kingstree, SC.  Mr. Don enjoyed hunting and target shooting.  He was a creative person who also enjoyed drawing, photography, and calligraphy.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Don is survived by siblings Stephen Eugene "Gene" (Pam) Cantey, John Floyd (Marie) Cantey, Eugenia "Gena" (Ronnie) Miller, and Dew Percy Richardson (Irene) Cantey; step-daughter Holly Virginia (Brock) Graham; and two step-grandchildren.

Mr. Don was predeceased by his parents; his first wife, Judy Graham Cantey; and his sister, Kristen Marguerite Cantey.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, September 22, 2024 in the Morris Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will be in the Ebenezer Methodist Church Cemetery at 1760 Pope Road, Hemingway, SC, 29554.  The family will receive friends from 1:30 – 2:15 p.m. on Sunday, September 22, 2024 in the Morris Funeral Home Chapel located at 416 N. Main Street, Hemingway, SC, 29554.
