A true outdoorsman, Jethro loved hunting, fishing, and spending time in nature.  He was also a dedicated farmer and, for 39 years, owned and operated Cooper's Grocery, becoming a fixture in the Hannah community.  Above all, Jethro was a family man, deeply committed to his loved ones and to his community.  He and his beloved wife, Edna M. (Turner) Cooper, were married for 73 years, a partnership that stood as a testament to their love, devotion, and shared faith.

Jethro was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Edna M. (Turner) Cooper; his son, Harry Cooper; grandson, Lewy Cooper; daughter-in-law, Myrtle Lee Cooper; son-in-law, Harrell Cox; four brothers, and three sisters.

He is survived by his children:  Wayne Cooper, Larry Cooper, Brenda Cox, Becky (James) Bellflowers, and Barry (Lisa) Cooper; and his daughter-in-law, Tammy Cooper.  He also leaves behind 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren, all of whom will forever cherish his memory.

The family will receive friends at New Prospect Free Will Baptist Church, 4221 Sheminally Road, Pamplico, SC, 29583 on Tuesday, June 10, 2025 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 11, 2025 at New Prospect Free Will Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Jethro's memory to New Prospect Free Will Baptist Church.
