Obituary

Johnsonville, SC

Mr. Jimmy Earl Hanna, 80, of Johnsonville, SC passed away surrounded by his family that loved him dearly on Thursday, December 9, 2021 in a local hospital after an extended illness.

Mr. Hanna was born on November 8, 1941, son of the late Arles and Violet Carter Hanna. He was a graduate of Johnsonville High School and often joked that his teachers were just as happy as he was when he finished. He married Debbie Cook Hanna in 1964 who continued to be by his side for 57 years. He was a member of Leo Masonic Lodge # 310 and was also an Omar Shriner. He worked for Badger Bazen as a Fabricator and is his later years he was the owner and operator of Hanna's ABC.

"Mr. Jimmy" as known by all never met a stranger and could always bring a smile to everyone's face. He loved to fish and took pride in telling stories about his experiences. He had a series of fishing stories that would impress even the professionals. A day never passed without friends and neighbors driving by to wave or stop by to hear one of his tales. One of his favorite things to do was to tell every lady how beautiful they were just to see their smile. He loved life, he loved his wife, he loved his family and he loved the Lord.

He leaves to cherish his loving memory his wife of 57 years, Debbie Cook Hanna; two daughters he loved dearly, Heidi (Jerry) Lee and Amy McLean (Joey Evans); grandchildren, Carson Lee, Cameron Lee, Abbey McLean, and Cassie McLean; and a large number of nieces, nephews, and friends who will never forget him.

He was predeceased by a brother and sister-in-law, Vander and Ethel Hanna; sister and brother-in-law, Yvonner and Joseph Dukes
