Jo Ann Norton King, 43, wife of Michael King, passed away Thursday, July 20, 2023 in the MUSC hospital in Charleston, SC.

Jo Ann was born in Florence, SC, a daughter of Devon and Julia Avant Norton. She was a homemaker and attended the Community Free Will Baptist Church of the Pentecostal Faith.

She enjoyed singing, playing the piano, going to the mountains, and working in the church, but most of all she loved spending time with her friends and family.

She is survived by her husband of 21 years, Michael King; daughter, Amanda (Hunter) Walker and her parents, Devon and Julia Norton; granddaughter, Eleanor Ann Walker and her sister, Yuonne (Matt) Nicholson.

Funeral services will be held at 6:00 PM Tuesday, July 25, 2023 in the Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Hemingway, SC. A private interment will be in the Florence National Cemetery.

The family will receive friends and family from 5:00 PM until 6:00 PM Tuesday, July 25, 2023 in the Morris Funeral Home Chapel, 416 N. Main St., Hemingway, SC 29554.
