Joe. "J.M." Langley, 77, husband of Leila Mae "Lei" Tanner Langley, passed away Saturday, September 18, 2021 at his home.

M. was born in Coward, SC, a son of the late Joseph Beasley and Rosie Bell McCutcheon Langley. He was the owner and operator of Langley Roofing and Construction Company.

His greatest passion was music, he loved playing and singing at Carolinas Live Gospel Music Hall, which was the fulfillment of his life's long dream of having a place to enjoy music. In his younger days he enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Leila Mae "Lei" Tanner Langley; children, Linda (Robert) Williams, Gwen (Mark) Creel, Joe "Joey" Langley, Jr., and Carolyn Langley Gallegos; step-children, Debbie (Tim) Evans, David B. Hummel, Daniel J. Hummel, Dorie (Chris) Kimes, Dawn (Larry) Congdon, Daye (Yulia) Hummel, and Elizabeth (John Eric) McMillian; brothers, Robbie Langley and Carl Langley; sister, Evelyn Langley Lee; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He was predeceased by 1 brother, 2 sisters, and 1 grandson.

Funeral services will be held at 7:00 PM Tuesday, September 21, 2021 in the Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Hemingway, SC.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Tuesday, September 21, 2021 in the Morris Funeral Home Chapel, 416 N. Main St., Hemingway, SC 29554.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Carolina Live Gospel Music Hall, c/o Leila Langley, 73 Saratoga Dr., Lake City, SC 29560.
