John Lester Thompson, 65, passed away Friday, July 28, 2017 in a Florence hospital.

Mr. Lester was born in Hemingway, SC, a son of the late John Kelly and Jeanette Matthews Thompson. He was an auto mechanic, loved working on small engines, fishing, camping, and spending time with the grandchildren.

Surviving are his daughter, Jessica (Calip) Floyd; grandchildren, Landon Carmichael, Londyn Hardee, Aiden Floyd, and Zoey Floyd; sisters, Kay (Denward) Prosser, Vickie McGee, and Diane (Tony) Carroll.
He was predeceased by his wife, Marie P. Thompson; sister, Frankie Blanton.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 PM Sunday, July 30, 2017 in the Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Hemingway, SC.

The family will receive friends from 2:30 until 4:00 PM Sunday, July 30, 2017 in the Morris Funeral Home Chapel, 416 N. Main St., Hemingway, SC 29554.
