John Thomas "J. T." Collins, 89, widower of Ellaree Cribb Collins, passed away Thursday, August 9, 2018 in a Florence hospital.

Mr. J. T. was born in Lake City, SC, a son of the late John Roland Collins, Sr. and the late Mary Elizabeth Prosser Collins. He was a retired supervisor in the fiber division of Wellman Industries, a US Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and enjoyed fishing, collecting arrow heads, and doing word puzzles.

Surviving is his children, Troy W. (Ann) Collins, Nancy C. (Dean) McAlister, Sylvia C. Fenters, Betty C. Poston, and Harvey "Doodle Bug" Creel, Jr.; brothers, Lindy "Tootie" O'neil and John Roland "Dumpy" Collins, Jr.; 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a brother, Willie Edward Collins.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, August 12, 2018 in the Morris Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Garden of Devotion Cemetery, 800 S. Georgetown Hwy., Johnsonville, SC 29555.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 PM until 3:00 PM Sunday, August, 12, 2018 in the Morris Funeral Home Chapel, 416 N. Main St., Hemingway, SC 29554.
