Joseph "Joe" Elloree Baxley, Sr., 88, widower of Rachel Stone Baxley, passed away Thursday, May 30, 2024 at his home in Lexington, SC.

Mr. Joe was born in Hemingway, SC, a son of the late Joseph Lamar and Vernell Howell Baxley. He was a computer programmer for the US Navy and was a member of the Rehobeth Pentecostal Holiness Church.

He loved his church along with reading and studying God's Holy word. He enjoyed gardening, watching golf and westerns on TV and he loved spending time with his family, church family, and friends.

He is survived by his daughter, Gayle (Jim) Railton; grandchildren, Jamie (Stephanie), Helen (Brandon), Christian, Sydney, Bear, Cory, Joy, Tracey, and Ashley and great grandchildren, Harper Grace, and Emma.

He was predeceased by a son Joseph E. Baxley, Jr. and daughter, Melissa Shawn Franklin; brothers, Thomas Baxley, Woodrow Baxley and sister, Louise Haggerty.

Funeral services, directed by Morris Funeral Home of Hemingway, SC will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, June 8, 2024 in the Rehobeth Pentecostal Holiness Church with burial in the Old Johnsonville Cemetery, 846 S. Georgetown Hwy., Hemingway, SC 29554.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 PM until 2:00 PM Saturday, June 8, 2024 in the Rehobeth Pentecostal Holiness Church, 1573 Cow Head Rd., Hemingway, SC 29554.
