Joseph "Jay" Franklin Prosser, Jr., 37, passed away Tuesday, August 24, 2021 in a Florence hospital.

Jay was born in Florence, SC, a son of Joseph "Joey" Prosser, Sr. and the late Frances Elaine McDonald McAllister. He worked in construction as a carpenter.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing ball with the boys but most of all he loved spending quality time with his boys.

He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Heather McDaniel Prosser; sons, Joseph "Little Jay" Franklin Prosser, III, Landen Prosser, and Jordan Prosser; father and step-mother, Joey and Melanie Prosser; brothers, Donnis "Bubba" (Natasha) Lewis and Bryan Haselden; sisters, Dora Elaine (Benji) Miller and Brandi (Bobby) Carter; sister-in-law, Melissa (William) Hanna; father and mother in-law, Steve and Dale McDaniel; a number of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 PM Thursday, August 26, 2021 in the Word of Life Church. Burial, directed by Morris Funeral Home of Hemingway, SC, will be in the Lake Chapel Cemetery, 860 Lake Chapel Cemetery Rd., Johnsonville, SC 29555.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM Thursday, August 26, 2021 in the Word of Life Church, 942 S. Clayfield Rd., Johnsonville, SC 29555.
