Joshua Anson Stone, son of Gloria Evans and the late Anson Stone, Jr., passed away at his home on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 in Gulfport, MS.

Joshua was born in Florence, SC.  He was a 2016 graduate of Johnsonville High School.  He was an electrician by trade who worked at Ingalls Shipyard in Pascagoula, MS.  Joshua enjoyed hunting and fishing, baseball, and spending time with family and friends.  His greatest joy was loving and spending time with his son, Braxton.

He is survived by a son, Braxton Crew Stone; mother, Gloria (Jet Tanner) Evans; sisters, Jessica R. Stone, Daylyn LJ Stone, and Justice Todd; brothers, Dawson R. Stone and Damion Parrott; step-mother, Casey Stone; mother of his son, Haley Bazen; paternal grandparents Andy and Laura Stone; maternal grandmother, Dianne S. Evans; aunts and uncles, Connie L. (Brad) Evans, Tammy E. (Jay) Howard, and Carla E (Johnny R.) Bass; cousins Brock, Jenna, Tyler, Samantha, Jill,  Eric, Taylor, and Lindsey.

In addition to his father, Anson Stone, Joshua was predeceased by Papa Buster Evans;  maternal great-grandmother Mary "Granny" Wise; maternal great-grandfather Buddy Wise;  paternal great-grandparents Lester B. and Bessie Lee Stone; and uncles Timmy Stone, Patrick Stone, and Stacy "King" Evans.

Joshua's family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Mike and Elisha Tinsley for the personal love, support, and care that they extended to him over the past few months.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 4, 2023 at the Morris Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will be in the Owens Swamp Cemetery, County Line Road, Hemingway, SC.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 3, 2023 at the Morris Funeral Home Chapel, 416 N. Main Street, Hemingway, SC.
