Julius Manning Lyerly, 72, passed away Sunday, December 20, 2020 in a Florence hospital.

Mr. Julius was born in Johnsonville, SC, a son of the late Clinton and Eloise Coker Lyerly. He was a retired dispatcher for the Hemingway Police Department and attended Unity Free Will Baptist Church. He enjoyed gardening and raising livestock.

He is survived by sisters, Cecile Talbot, Mary Howell, and Jean Stone; brothers, J. C. (Kathie) Lyerly and Charles (Cindy) Lyerly and many nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by brothers, Earl J. Coker and Jerry Lyerly; sister, JoLane Baggett.

Graveside services, directed by Morris Funeral Home of Hemingway, SC, will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, December 22, 2020 in the Garden of Devotion Cemetery, 800 S. Georgetown Hwy. Johnsonville, SC 29555.

Due to the pandemic the family will not be present at the funeral home, but Mr. Julius will be open for public viewing from 12:00 PM until 5:00 PM Monday and from 9:00 AM until 12:00 PM Tuesday in the Morris Funeral Home Chapel, 416 N. Main St., Hemingway, SC 29554.

Memorials may be made to the Unity Free Will Baptist Church, 1907 Lake City Hwy., Johnsonville, SC 29555.
