Karen Joy Mason, 64, life partner of the late James "Buddy" Cox, Jr., passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, April 4, 2024.

Ms. Karen was born in Chicago, Illinois, a daughter of the late Paul and Evelyn Mason.  She worked as an inspector for Cooper Wire and Devices. Ms. Karen was a member of Williams Hill FWB Church.  She enjoyed reading and completing wordsearch puzzles; but, was an avid listener of podcasts.

Ms. Karen is survived by sisters Diane Menolasino (Wonder Lake, Illinois), Mary Ann Walker (Woodstock, Illinois), and Robin Mason (McHenry, Illinois); one brother, Gary Mason (Barron, Wisconsin); eight nieces and nephews; and sister-in-laws, Barbara Oltman and Louise Simons.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 17, 2024 at 4:00 p.m. in the Morris Funeral Home Chapel.  The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 17, 2024 from 3:00 – 4:00 p.m. in the Morris Funeral Home Chapel located at 416 N. Main Street, Hemingway, SC, 29554. Burial will be in the Williams Hill Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery, 86 Williams Hill Road, Hemingway, SC, 29554.
