Kathleen Hanna
Anderson
Feb 25, 1949 — Oct 17, 2025
Johnsonville
Kathleen "Kathy" Hanna Anderson, 76, widow of Lee Anderson, passed away peacefully on October 17, 2025, in Florence, South Carolina surrounded by her loving daughters. Kathy was a compassionate and delightful lady who was loved by all.
A daughter of the late John Foster and Hester Hanna, Kathy was born in Florence County on February 25, 1949. A resident of the Vox community, Kathy remained deeply connected to her hometown throughout her life.
Kathy dedicated her professional life to the medical field as a skilled medical transcriptionist. Her career spanned several respected institutions, including McLeod Regional Medical Center and Carolina's Hospital System in Florence, as well as Toumey Medical Center in Sumter. Her work reflected a commitment to precision and care that supported countless healthcare professionals and patients over the years.
She was a member of Vox United Methodist Church and found joy in simple pleasures—reading a good book, cooking for loved ones, chatting on the phone with friends and family, and watching drama-filled movies that sparked conversation and laughter. Above all else, Kathy cherished time spent with all family, especially her daughters and grandchildren.
Kathy is survived by daughters, Kim (Chann) Ard and Jennifer (Stan) Hunt; grandchildren, Lauren O. (John) Grimes, Anderson Ard, John Charles Ard, and Sawyer Hunt; sisters, Bonnie (Buddy) Stone and Cindy Woodward; brother, Ronnie (Jackie) Hanna; and a sister-in-law, Mary Alice Collins.
In addition to her husband of 40 years and her parents, Kathy was predeceased by a daughter, Laura McClam Owens, and a brother, Johnny Hanna.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, October 20, 2025 in the Morris Funeral Home Chapel located at 416 N Main Street, Hemingway, South Carolina, 29554. The family will receive friends in the Chapel prior to the service from 2:00 p.m. – 3:45 p.m. on Monday, October 20, 2025.
