Katie Gaskin Crosby, 69, wife of David V. Crosby, passed away Tuesday, July 9, 2019 in the Tidelands Georgetown Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Katie was born in Charleston, SC, a daughter of the late Gilbert H. and Lucy Mae Haselden Gaskin. She was a retired secretary for the Williamsburg County School District in the Food Service Division. She was a member of Midway Baptist Church, former member of the Hemingway Town Council, Girl Scout Leader, coach for rec softball, member of the Hemingway Zoning Committee, and a substitute teacher for the Williamsburg school district.

She is survived by her husband of 48 years, David V. Crosby; children, Lucinda Crosby Mixon, Julie Crosby (Troy) Gaskins, and Jaynes (Joni Marlowe) Crosby; brother, Chuck (Frankie) Gaskins; grandchildren, Anthony, David, Kalin, Jacob (Haleigh), Madelyn, Hailey, Jayda, Kylie, and Paris; great-grandchildren, Deshay, Cali, Malia, Kameren, Karson, Kaleb, and Kinsley; special cousin, Teresa Debolt; special friend, Terri Stalvey; many other nieces, nephews, and friends; and her beloved dog, Coco. She was predeceased by a great-grand, DJ Mixon.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, July 11, 2019 in the Morris Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Old Johnsonville Cemetery, 846 S. Georgetown Hwy., Johnsonville, SC 29555.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Wednesday, July 10, 2019 in the Morris Funeral Home Chapel, 416 N. Main St., Hemingway, SC 29554.
