Kevin Alonzo
Tanner
Jul 26, 1960 — Nov 23, 2025
Hemingway
Kevin Alonzo Tanner, 65, widower of Sheri Tanner, passed away on November 23, 2025, in Hemingway, South Carolina.
A son of the late Julian Alonzo and Patricia Tanner, Kevin was born on July 26, 1960, in Jefferson City, Missouri. He lived a life marked by quiet strength and a laid-back spirit that endeared him to those around him.
A graduate of Pleasant Hill High School in the Class of 1978, Kevin pursued a career as a carpenter—a trade that reflected his hands-on nature and practical skills. Over the years, he built more than just structures; he built a life rooted in simplicity and authenticity.
In his younger days, Kevin was known as something of a rambler. He had a deep love for music and could often be found strumming his guitar or riding his motorcycle down open roads. These passions brought him joy and freedom during his early years. As time passed, he grew into more of a homebody, finding comfort in the familiar rhythms of daily life and the peace of staying close to home. He was a member of Center Baptist Church.
Kevin is survived by his daughter Nichole Tanner; three grandchildren; his sister, Karen Owen; and nieces Melanie Burrell, Kelly Poston, and Jessica Hardin.
Those who knew Kevin will remember him as an easygoing soul—someone who moved through life with calmness and quiet humor. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who shared in his journey.
