Kim E. Thaxton, 62, husband of Tamra Nettles Thaxton, passed away Wednesday, February 22, 2023 in the McLeod Regional Medical Center of the Pee Dee in Florence, SC.

Kim was born in Havre De Grace, Maryland, a son of James Edward Thaxton, Sr. and the late Mary Carolyn Chandler Alford. He was a truck driver, and in his off time he enjoyed camping, motorcycle riding, watching westerns, but most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Tamra Nettles Thaxton and his son, Kimball Curtis (Stephanie) Thaxton; father, James Edward Thaxton, Sr.; sisters and brother, Angela (Billy) Fowler, Mary (Kenny) Dennis and Tony Thaxton; grandchildren, Kimball Thaxton, Jr., Stormie Gayle Thaxton, Victoria Lynn Thaxton, and Alexandra Grace Thaxton; God daughter, Tonya Melissa Burrows; and a number of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was predeceased by a brother, James Edward Thaxton, Jr.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday, February 25, 2023 in the Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Hemingway, SC. Burial will be in the Eaddy Ford Cemetery, 481 S. Eaddy Ford Rd., Johnsonville, SC 29555.

The family will receive family and friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Friday, February 24, 2023 in the Morris Funeral Home Chapel, 416 N. Main St., Hemingway, SC 29554.
