Lanue Driggers "Buddy" Ard, 82, husband of Patricia McDonald Ard, passed away Sunday, September 4, 2022 at his home.

Mr. Buddy was born in Augusta, GA, a son of the late Harley P. and Lula Mae Driggers Ard. He was a member of New Vision Free Will Baptist Church and he taught Sunday School for 40 years. He was also a member of the Indiantown Masonic Lodge # 165, a Shriner, and was a veteran of the US Army.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Patricia McDonald Ard and his children, Michael (Merry) Ard and Patricia (Benjy) Byers; brother, Edward Ard and a sister, Joyce Matthews; grandchildren, Savannah Ard, Seth Ard, Emma Ard, Henry Ard, Arlie Ard, Samuel Byers, Kaylee (Allen Caulder) Byers.

He was predeceased by a grandson, Shane Byers, brothers, Jimmy Ard and Roger Ard, and sisters, Judy Allen and Frances Matthews.

Funeral services, directed by Morris Funeral Home of Hemingway, SC, will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, September 6, 2022 in the New Vision Free Will Baptist Church. Burial, with Masonic rites will be in the Poplar Hill Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery, 2380 S. State Hwy 41/51, Hemingway, SC 29554.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM Tuesday, September 6, 2022 in the New Vision Free Will Baptist Church, 2616 S. State Hwy. 41/51, Hemingway, SC 29554.
