Larry Mark Powell, 67, husband of Sharon Powell, passed away at MUSC Health Medical Center in Florence, SC on Wednesday, July 31, 2024.

Larry was born in Hemingway, SC, a son of the late Felton Powell and Joyce Cox Powell Parker. He grew up in Rehobeth Pentecostal Church and in later years became a member of Ebenezer Methodist Church.  He was also a member of the Prospect Camp Sons of Confederate Veterans.

Larry was an avid outdoorsman who was a member and President of Petersfield Hunting Club. He enjoyed many hours of camping, hunting, and fishing but was also very fond of cutting his grass.  Above all, Larry loved his family and "would fight the whole world for his children and grandbabies."

He is survived by his wife, of 47 years, Sharon Powell, daughters, Lauren Ashley Powell(Jacob Fischer) and Lindsey (Danny) Fivek; grandchildren, Kylee Tanna Pope, Ayden Rivers Powell, Leira Elise Fivek, Rylee Marie Fivek, and Lainey Christine Fivek; brother, Keith (Nannette) Powell; sisters-in-law, Jolla Powell and Karen Powell.

He was predeceased by a son, Ryan Mark Powell and brothers, Murriel and Alroy Bert Powell..

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 3:30 PM on Saturday, August 3, 2024 in the Morris Funeral Home Chapel, 416 N. Main St., Hemingway, SC 29554.  A private Graveside Service to follow.
