Lillian "Lill" Fenters Joye, 97, widow of E. M. Joye, Jr., went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, March 2, 2024 at her home with her daughter Debby by her side.

Mrs. Lill was born in Georgetown, SC, a daughter of the late Gilbert Thomas Fenters, Sr. and the late Bertha Bon Fenters. She retired from Ruffins Department Store after many years of service and was a member of the Hemingway First Baptist Church for over 85 years.

She enjoyed going to the beach with her sisters and she loved spending time with her family and friends, but most of all she loved her church and anytime the doors were open she was there doing anything that she could do to help.

She is survived by her daughters, Cynthia "Pug" Poston and Deborah "Debby" Hanna; grandson, Shawn (Jocelyn) Hanna and a granddaughter, Joye (Woody) Hanna Avant; 4 great-grandchildren, 2 step great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandson.

She was predeceased by 4 sisters and 2 brothers.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, March 4, 2024 in the Hemingway First Baptist Church. Burial, directed by Morris Funeral Home of Hemingway, SC, will be in the Garden of Devotion Cemetery, 800 S. Georgetown Hwy., Johnsonville, SC 29555.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM Monday, March 4, 2024 in the Hemingway First Baptist Church, 200 E. George St., Hemingway, SC 29554.
