Hemingway, SC

Lillie Carter Gunter, 96, widow of Ruford L. Gunter, passed away Tuesday, November 17, 2020 at her home.

Mrs. Lillie was born in Hemingway, SC, a daughter of the late Edward Snyder Carter and Bessie Lee Bolyn Carter Baxley and she was the step daughter of the late Clarence O. Baxley.

She was a member of New Vision Original Free Will Baptist Church, enjoyed cooking, singing gospel songs, working on the farm and she loved taking care of her family.

She is survived by her children, Janice (Michael) Bellflowers, Ronnie Gunter, and Donnie Gunter; 7 grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by two sons, Roger Dale (Mary) Gunter and Randal Gunter; granddaughter, Charlotte G. Barefoot; sisters, Dorris Carter Baxley and Dora Lee Carter McDonald.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, November 19, 2020 in the Eaddy Ford Cemetery, 481 S. Eaddy Ford Rd., Johnsonville, SC 29555.
