Lisa Cook
Bell
Nov 14, 1965 — Nov 7, 2025
Johnsonville
Johnsonville, SC
Lisa Cook Bell 59, wife of Glenn Bell, of Johnsonville, South Carolina, passed away in the early morning hours on November 7, 2025, surrounded by her family at her daughter's home.
A daughter of the late Marion Ulmer and Betty Cook, Lisa was born on November 14, 1965, in Georgetown County, South Carolina. Her life was rooted in the Lowcountry she called home.
A proud graduate of Johnsonville High School's Class of 1984, Lisa went on to build a dedicated career as an insurance clerk with Blue Cross/Blue Shield Champus in Florence. For two decades, she served with diligence and commitment until health challenges led her to early retirement.
Lisa found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved to "loaf," embracing moments of rest and relaxation with a sense of humor and ease. A fan of classic television, she especially enjoyed watching "The Waltons", finding comfort in its familiar stories. Shopping brought her happiness, but nothing compared to the time she spent surrounded by her family—those moments were what she cherished most.
In addition to her husband, Lisa is survived by a daughter, Brittney Bell; a grandson, Bailee Powell; a sister Sandy (David) Newton; a brother, Randall (Fungfa) Cook; nieces, Brandy Hancock and Maidawn Cook; nephews, David "Bubba" Newton and Wesley Cook; great-nieces Paityn Newton, Ivy Cook and Nashlyn Newton; and great-nephews, Cohen Hancock, Allen Newton, Jaylin Jackson, and Neegan Newton. She is also survived by Michelle Cook Hart, who although a cousin by blood, was a sister at heart as well as close friends Curtis Hancock and Chris Powell.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM on Sunday, November 9, 2025 in the Morris Funeral Home Chapel, 416 N. Main St. Hemingway, South Carolina, 29554. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
The family will also be receiving friends at her daughters home, 4121 Huggins Rd, Lake City, SC 29560
Burial, directed by Morris Funeral Home of Hemingway, will take place in The Bell Family Cemetery, 4121 Huggins Road, Lake City, South Carolina, 29560 immediately following the funeral service.
