Lloyd S. Miller, twin brother of Lamar Miller, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 15, 2024, at the home of his sister.
Lloyd was born in upper Georgetown County, a son of the late Girley S. and Katherine L. Miller. He retired from Stone Container after 32 years as the Lead Operator in the Power House. After graduating in 1955 from Pleasant Hill High School, he enlisted in the US Navy where he served onboard the Destroyer USS Douglas H. Fox. Lloyd was a member of the Center Baptist Church and the Senior Adult Sunday School Class. He was a 1959 Charter Member of the Master Masons at Indiantown Lodge #165. He was a contributor to Shriners Hospital supporting Crippled Children's Hospital through the Jail Birds. In addition, Lloyd was a long-time supporter of Liberty University and Liberty Baptist Schools which assists in providing scholarship funds for many students.
Lloyd enjoyed gardening and rebuilding antique tractors and cars. His greatest enjoyment was visiting with his many nieces and nephews as well as his great-nieces and nephews.
Lloyd is survived by sisters Rose Wall and Florrie Leland; two sister-in-laws; and multiple nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Lloyd was predeceased by brothers Lamar Miller (twin), J.A. Miller, and John Thomas Miller.
Funeral services will be held at Center Baptist Church on Thursday, March 21, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in the Center Baptist Church Cemetery, 2602 School House Drive, Hemingway, SC, 29554. The family will receive friends from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 20, 2024 at the Morris Funeral Home Chapel located at 416 N. Main Street, Hemingway, SC, 29554.
