Mrs. Marilyn P. Collins, 83, passed away Thursday, September 26, 2024 in the Southland Health Care Center in Florence, SC.

Born in Jasper, Alabama;  Mrs. Marilyn was a daughter of the late Wesley and Linnie Gann Tidwell.  Over the years, Mrs. Marilyn worked at a variety of occupations including working in the textile industry at Wellman Industries and Delta Mills.  She also owned and operated Kingsburg Restaurant.  She was also a homemaker who ran a home and raised her three children.  Mrs. Marilyn was a member of the Kingsburg Baptist Church who lived in the Kingsburg community.  Mrs. Marilyn enjoyed crocheting and working in her yard; however, she cherished spending time with her family.

Mrs. Marilyn is survived by daughters Gail (Legrande) Goins and Karen (Steve Davidson) Poston; son Ira L. (Molly) Powell; grandchildren Jonathan, Jessica, Jennifer, Staci, Michael, Stefani, and T.J.; fifteen great-grandchildren;  a dear and beloved sister, Betty Dempsey in addition to siblings Herchel Tidwell, Jerry (Linda) Tidwell, Roger (Gail) Tidwell, Mary Ann T. Johnson, Clarence (Bud) Tidwell, and Lance Tidwell; and a very special niece, Bridgette Sanchez, as well as many other nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Marilyn was predeceased by husbands Jimmy Powell and Carol B. Collins, brother Richard Tidwell, and son-in-law Teddy L. Poston.
