Hemingway, SC

Marion W. "Woody" Curtis, 55, passed away Friday, October 20, 2017 in a Florence hospital.

Woody was born in Kingstree, SC, a son of Tyson A. "Sonny" Curtis, Jr. and the late Faye Thompson Curtis. He was currently the Principal of Hemingway High School and was a former PE Teacher and Coach of the Hemingway High School Tigers. He was a member of the SC Coaches Association and was the Hemingway BBQ Shag Cook Off Chairman. He loved hunting, fishing, and football but most of all he was a big Hemingway Tigers Football fan. He was a member of the Liberty Southern Christian Pentecostal Holiness Church.

Surviving are his wife, Marie Scott Curtis; children, Paul Mason, Woody Préot Curtis and Pierce Curtis; father, Tyson A. "Sonny" Curtis, Jr.; step-mother, Becky Curtis; brother, Tyson A. (Caroline) Curtis, III; grandson, J. P. Mason

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, October 22, 2017 in the Hemingway High School Gym. Burial, directed by Morris Funeral Home of Hemingway, SC, will be in the Indiantown Presbyterian Church Cemetery, 4865 Hemingway Highway, Hemingway, SC 29554.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM Saturday, October 21, 2017 in the Hemingway High School Gym, 402 S. Main St., Hemingway, SC 29554.

Memorials may be made to the Liberty Southern Christian Pentecostal Holiness Church, 1277 Pope Road, Hemingway, SC 29554.
