Mary Kathryn Lowrimore Daniel, 86, died on October 23, 2018 at McLeod Hospice House surrounded by her family. She was born at the Old Place in Williamsburg County, July 5, 1932, to Miley Kimball and Ellen Matthews Lowrimore. She was preceded in death by her husband, Luther Webb Daniel of Oxford, North Carolina and her sister, Janice Lowrimore Duke of Columbia, South Carolina.
She is the mother of six children; Miley Karla Daniel Gravitt (Kirk) of Clarksville, Virginia; James Luther Daniel (Stacy) of Simpsonville, South Carolina; Kyle Webb Daniel (Jodi) of Hemingway, South Carolina; Melissa Kristen Daniel Moss (David) of Florence, South Carolina; Shannon Wright Daniel (Rhonda) of Nesmith, South Carolina; and Mary Kathryn (Kari) Daniel Batchelor (Brooks) of Clayton, North Carolina. Mrs. Daniel is leaving behind 13 beloved grandchildren and one great granddaughter. She is also survived by a sister, Ellen Lowrimore Young of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and a brother, William James Lowrimore of Hemingway, South Carolina.
Mrs. Daniel was a member of First Baptist Church of Hemingway. She was a retired school teacher, having taught in both North and South Carolina schools. She received her Bachelor of Arts from Coker College, a Masters in Education, and an Educational Specialist Degree in Developmental Disabilities from Francis Marion University.
Her lifetime passions included a love for teaching all children, rescuing animals, and crocheting for charitable causes.
The family is holding a memorial service at the First Baptist Church of Hemingway at 10:00 AM October 27, 2018. Her loved ones will receive family and friends at 9:00 AM in the church fellowship hall, 200 E. George St., Hemingway, SC 29554.
