Mary Lou Miller Port, 84, the widow of James W. Port, passed away Saturday, September 17, 2022, at Georgetown Memorial Hospital. Mary Lou, the second of three children, was born on September 30, 1937 to the late Phoenix and Louise Miller.

Mary Lou was a homemaker and a loving mother to her children. She was a devoted caregiver to James until his passing in 2016. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.

Survivors include daughters, Tricia Port, Mary Ann Port, and Vicki (Edward) Owens of Pleasant Hill; brother-in-law, R. L. Port; many special nieces and nephews and her much loved grand dog Chimmie.

In addition to her husband of 60 years and her parents, Mary Lou was predeceased by her brothers, Talmadge Miller and Gerald Miller and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Edna and Marvin Cribb, Vivian and Vernon Port, Miriam and Julian Port and Linda Port.

The family will receive friends at the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Family Life Center on Monday, September 19, 2022, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.

Funeral services will be held at 3:30 PM Tuesday, September 20, 2022, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery, directed by Morris Funeral Home of Hemingway, SC.
