Mary Miles Newell, 84, widow of James Everett Newell, passed away Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at the McLeod Hospice House.

Ms. Mary was born in Hannah, SC, a daughter of the late Clyde Miles and the late Bertha Poston Miles Hearne. She was an active member of Freemount Mission and has gone Home to be with the Lord. She was a dedicated Christian who lived her life in service to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, her family and was a friend to any in need. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, and gardening.

She is survived by five sons: Steve (Joanie), Rick (Beverly), Scott (Holly), Todd(Tammie, deceased) and Tracy Newell. Twelve grandchildren: Ashley, Michael, Taylor, Caroline, Elizabeth, Kasee, Cody, Brock, Rosalyn, Bradley, Zachary, Whitney, eighteen great grandchildren, three brothers: Raymon (Ann) Hearne, Rudy (Edna) Hearne, Wesley Hearne and two sisters: Pauleen (Steve) Hinshaw and Shirley (George) Rhame.
Predeceased by grandson, Benjamin Chinnes; brothers, Challis Miles and Darvin Miles.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Thursday, October 18, 2018 in the Morris Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Old Johnsonville Cemetery 846 S. Georgetown Hwy., Johnsonville, SC 29554.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 PM until 3:00 PM Thursday, October 18, 2018 in the Morris Funeral Home Chapel, 416 N. Main St., Hemingway, SC 29554.

In lieu of flowers her family asks to please make memorials to New Cemetery at Old Johnsonville Cemetery Fund PO Box 338, Johnsonville, SC 29555.
