Mary Sue Parsons Altman, 90, widow of J. Harold Altman, passed away at her home in Johnsonville on Sunday, May 19, 2024.

Mrs. Mary Sue was born in, Hemingway, SC, a daughter of the late Stephen Earnest and Estelle Fulton Parsons.  Along with her husband, Mrs. Mary Sue was the co-owner of State Electric in Hemingway for over 40 years.  She managed the daily operations of the business which included arranging service calls, ordering parts, and assisting customers while also keeping the business books.  During her spare time, Mrs. Mary Sue enjoyed going to the lake and working in her flowers.  She loved watching television.  She especially liked soap operas, old westerns, and the Hallmark channel.

Mrs. Mary Sue is survived by daughters Susan (Ronald) Williams and Janet Altman; grandsons Clay (Donna) Prosser and Chance Prosser; great-grandchildren, Kenslie and Rimington Prosser; and sister, Letha Howard.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Mary Sue was predeceased by two sons, Randall "Randy" Briley Altman and Samuel "Sam" Harold Altman; a sister, Jeanette Owens; and a brother, Stephen Earnest, Parsons, Jr.

A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 21, 2024 in the Old Johnsonville Methodist Church Cemetery, 843 S. Georgetown Highway, Johnsonville, SC, 29555. The family will receive friends from 1:30 – 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 21, 2024 in the Morris Funeral Home Chapel located at 416 N Main Street, Hemingway, SC, 29554.
