Mary Ellis "Sissy" Bryant McAndrew, passed away on November 3, 2022 She was eighty-two.

Sissy was the daughter of the late Dr. W.E. Bryant and Mary Byrd Creel Bryant.  She was born at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina, while her father was in medical school there.

After spending her children's formative years as a dedicated homemaker, Sissy earned certification as a nursing assistant and worked at NHC nursing home in Garden City.  Sissy was a member of Center Baptist Church in Pleasant Hill, SC, and later attended the Saint Andrews Anglican Church in Mount Pleasant, SC.

Sissy loved gardening, dancing, taking long walks, and spending time with her beloved family, friends, and pets.

Sissy is survived by her daughter Dr. Eve (Brian) Badger; grand-children Michaela Jae McAndrew, Joseph Michael McAndrew, Jeremy Avant, Jordan Avant, and Raegan Hope Badger; sister Hope Bryant (John) Huggins; and son-in law Mark Avant.   She is pre-deceased by her daughter Dawn McAndrew Avant, and her son James Joseph McAndrew III and her brother Walter Stephen Bryant.

Graveside services will be held at the Garden of Devotion at 815 S. Georgetown Highway, Johnsonville, SC, on Wednesday, November 23, at 11:00 am. Flowers or memorial donations would be greatly appreciated.  Donations could be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or the Shriner's Children's Hospitals.
