Max LeFay "Mackey" Poston, Jr., 61, passed away Friday, December 8, 2017 at his home.

Mackey was born in Florence, SC, a son of Jean Turner Poston Dawkins and the late Max L. Poston, Sr. He was a marine mechanic and a member of the Johnsonville United Methodist Church. He loved to restore old radios, was an avid outdoorsman, and a Southern history buff.

Surviving are his mother, Jean P. Dawkins of the home; daughter, Heather Poston Guschel of Danville, PA; sisters, Kimberlyn M. Poston of Murrells Inlet, SC and Robin Renee Dawkins of Florence, SC; brother, William Joseph (Karen) Dawkins of Timmonsville, SC; grandchildren, Tyler Jackson Guschel and Ethan Kirby Poston; two nieces and one nephew, Shelby, Brittany, and Brock Dawkins.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, December 13, 2017 in the Morris Funeral Home Chapel with interment in the Garden of Devotion Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM and after the service in the Morris Funeral Home Chapel, 416 N. Main St., Hemingway, SC 29554.
