Hemingway, SC

Melvy Dain Cribb, 71, passed away Tuesday, October 3, 2017 in a Georgetown hospital.

Mr. Melvy was born in Hemingway, a son of the late Garner D. and Olive J. Owens Cribb. He was the owner and operator of M. Cribb Home Repair and Remodeling Co., attended Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and was a former member of the Pleasant Hill Bass Masters Club. He enjoyed, fishing, hunting and building furniture and served in the South Carolina National Guard.

Surviving are his wife, Jo Ann Roberts Cribb; children, Scott (Tara) Etheridge, Sherri Etheridge and Sheila Fennell; 7 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.; brother, Gerald (Veretha) Cribb; sisters, Sara Ann (T.J.) Baxley and Mary Lynn (Harvey) Roberts.
He was predeceased by a daughter, Wanda Cribb Jeffords; brothers, Floyd Allen Cribb and Johnny Cribb; sister, Mable C. Owens.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 Friday, October 6, 2017 in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Family Life Center. Burial, directed by Morris Funeral Home of Hemingway, SC, will be in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Thursday, October 5, 2017 in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Family Life Center, 11904 Pleasant Hill Dr., Hemingway, SC 29554.
