Hemingway, SC

Michael Ray Birchmore, Sr., 71, widower of Mary Catherine "Cathy" Bass Birchmore, passed away Monday, January 24, 2022 in a Florence hospital.

Michael was born in Columbia, SC, a son of the late Esau and Creola Thompson Birchmore. He was a retired mechanic and was a member of Outland Church of God.

He enjoyed fishing, reading, cooking, working at Stuckey Brothers, talking to anyone and everyone that he came in contact with, but most of all he loved spending time with the children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his children, Rosie Joye, Michael Ray Birchmore, Jr., and Cheryl O'Donal; grandchildren, Jacob Joye and Mikayla Matthews; sister, Lettie (Larry) Moore.

Morris Funeral Home of Hemingway is assisting the family with arrangements.
