Michael F. Evans, 32, passed away Wednesday August 2, 2017 from injuries sustained in an accident in Bakersfield, CA.

Michael was born in Kingstree, SC, the son of David Evans and Karen Hughes. He graduated from Johnsonville High School and The University of South Carolina with a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education. He was a member of Crossover Church, where he was one of the Youth and Music leaders. His dreams of being in the ministry began at Little Star Free Will Baptist, his family's home church.

He was a member and Past Worshipful Master of the Johnsonville Lodge # 365 and was the Past Eminent Commander of Knights Templar of the Winyah York Rites Bodies of Georgetown. He was a licensed pilot who loved flying.

Surviving are his father, David Evans; mother, Karen Hughes; brother, Kippy L. Evans, Daryn L. (Liz) Evans, and Robert Matthews; half-sister, Tina Opp and Cynthia H. Dominquez. He was predeceased by his grandmother who raised him as her son, Vaughan Evans.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, August 13, 2017 at Crossover Church. Burial, directed by Morris Funeral Home of Hemingway, will be at Carter Cemetery, 3422 Creek Road, Lake City, SC 29560.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM Sunday, August 13, 2017, at Crossover Church, 240 Seaboard Ave., Johnsonville, SC 29555.
