Miriam Leona Stone Taylor, 90, widow of S.W. Taylor, passed away on Saturday, September 5, 2020, at her home.
She was born in Johnsonville, SC, a daughter of the late Llewllyn M. "Gold" Altman and Lillie Mae Williams Altman. Mrs. Miriam was first married to the late Norman Olin Stone, and then later married the late Sam Williams. She was the last remaining charter member of Westside Free Will Baptist Church and was the owner and operator of Stone Oil and Parts. Her favorite things in life were spending time in her yard with her flowers, working for Phillips 66 Petroleum Co. where she served as a jobber for 40 years, but most of all spending time with her family and specially her grands, great-grands, and great-great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her sons, Randy (Gail) Stone and Sammie (Barbara) Stone; grandchildren, Samra (Don) Baxley, Kipp (Jennifer) Stone, and Austin (Kelly) Stone; great-grandchildren, Barry (Carlie) Baxley, Jake Stone, Caitlin Stone, Raeley Stone, Noea Stone, Casey Stone, Anistin Stone, and Kadin Huggins; great-great-grandchildren, Hollisyn, Sly, Zailey, Lindley Rae, Ezleigh Cait, Dax, and Eliza.
She was predeceased by two grandsons, Chad Stone and Sly Stone; a great-grandson, Andrew Stone; a brother, Jay Gold Altman; and sisters, Jennie Mae Johnson and Pearline Tanner.
Funeral services, directed by Morris Funeral Home of Hemingway, will be private.
