MoEden Floyd Blackwell, 97, widow George Blackwell, went home to be with her Lord and savior Jesus Christ, on Saturday, February 9, 2018 at the Bethea Baptist Home in Darlington, SC.
Mrs. MoEden was born in Hemingway, SC, a daughter of the late Clarence Aque Floyd and the late Emily Cox Floyd McElveen. She was a member of the Hemingway First Baptist Church and the Women's Missionary Union of the church. She was retired Manager of Marsha's Dress Shop. She enjoyed cooking and was a superb homemaker, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Surviving are her children, Jack (Annie Laurie) Marsh and Beverly Marsh (Kenneth B.) Sandifer and a very special niece, Emily Willis. Grandchildren, Jacquelyn Newell, Christopher (Mary Costa) Marsh, Nicole (Kevin) Capps, Bert (Christy) Sandifer, April S. (Rob) Groff, and Olivia (Argel) Sandifer-Gonzalez; great-grandchildren, Brock (Brooke) Newell, Rosalyn Newell Rogers, Bradley Newell, Morgan Marsh Stevenson, Garrett Marsh, Dexter Driggers, Lily Margaret Driggers, Madison Capps, Kinsley Capps, Riley Capps, Zachary Sandifer, Joshua Sandifer, Jackson Sandifer, Jadyn Groff, Kyrah Groff, Jarhett (April) Groff, Leighanna Lucas, Abryella Gonzalez, Laurel Gonzalez, and Abigayle Gonzalez; great-great-grandchildren, Eastin Newell, Brentley Newell, Greer Newell, Miles Rogers, Arlo Lucas, Beckham Lucas, Asher Groff, and Scarlett Groff.
She was predeceased by 2 brothers, Samuel Ozel Floyd and Clarence Aque Floyd, Jr.; and 1 sister, Jaronie Harrelson.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, February 11, 2019 in the Hemingway First Baptist Church. Burial, directed by Morris Funeral Home of Hemingway, SC, will be in the Old Johnsonville Cemetery, 860 S. Georgetown Hwy., Johnsonville, SC 29555.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM Monday, February 9, 2019 at the Hemingway First Baptist Church, 200 E. George St., Hemingway, SC 29554.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Hemingway First Baptist Church, PO Box 485, Hemingway, SC 29554 or the Bethea Baptist Community, 157 Home Ave., Darlington, SC 29532 or the charity one's choice.
