Nina Lucille Burroughs Tanner, 87, widow of Kenneth Tanner, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, May 10, 2019.

Mrs. Tanner was born in Horry County, a daughter of the late Mack and Louisa Owens Burroughs. She was a devoted homemaker and mother who was hand picked by God to lovingly and sacrificially care for her special daughter, Ginger, who predeceased her.

She was a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, Fannie Mae Bullard Prayer Group, Golden Circle Sunday School Class, and The Young at Heart. She was a graduate of Pleasant Hill High School, and enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, and was blessed with the gift of gab.

She is survived by her children, Gene Tanner, Martin Tanner, Kay Tanner, Sue Gamble, and Cindy (Keith) Owens; grandchildren, Kerri, Buddy, Justin, Shelly, Ashton, and Erin; 10 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Willa Maude (Earl) Owens, Barbara Owens; nieces and nephews; special care givers, Dell Salmon and Hollie Johnson.
She was predeceased by two sisters, Dorothea Burroughs and Annie Ruth Eaddy; two brothers, Leroy Burroughs and J. P. Burroughs; son-in-law, W. A. Gamble.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 Pm until 7:00 PM Sunday, May 12, 2019, in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Family Life Center, 11904 Pleasant Hill Drive, Hemingway, SC 29554.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, May 13, 2019 in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Burial, directed by Morris Funeral Home of Hemingway, SC, will be in the church cemetery, 11904 Pleasant Hill Dr., Hemingway, SC 29554.
