Hemingway, SC

Norman T. "Sonny" Thompson, 84, widower of Margaret Lyerly Thompson, passed away Thursday, September 12, 2019 in the Lake City Community Hospital.

Mr. Sonny was born in Hemingway, SC, a son of the late Conrad and Esther Carter Thompson. He was a retired farmer and store clerk at Grier's Grocery. He was a member of the Hemingway First Baptist Church, enjoyed fishing, working on the farm, and being at the store to talk to the people that came in.

He is survived by his daughter, Melinda Thompson; predeceased by a son, Joe Everette "Bud" Thompson.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, September 15, 2019 in the Morris Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Eaddy Ford Cemetery, 481 S. Eaddy Ford Road, Johnsonville, SC 29555.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM Sunday, September 15, 2019 in the Morris Funeral Home Chapel, 416 N. Main St. Hemingway, SC 29554.
