Redding Clayton Smith, Sr., 52, passed away Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at Kershaw Health Hospital in Camden, SC.

Mr. Red was born in Hemingway, SC, a son of the late Harry and Luvenia Pope Smith. He was retired from the SC Highway Patrol, a member of the SC National Guard and also the Conway Church of God in Conway, SC. He was a wrecker driver for Aynor Tire Mart and enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family and friends.

Surviving is his sons, Clay Smith, Jason (Liz) Smith, Scott (Amber) Smith, and Stephen Smith; brother, Stephen Smith; sisters, Brenda Mitchell (Michael English), Rachel (Frank) Bray, and Kathleen Smith; 7 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Thursday, September 20. 2018 in the Morris Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Trinity Untied Methodist Church Cemetery, 114 E. Trinity Road, Johnsonville, SC 29555.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 PM until 3:00 PM Thursday, September 20, 2018 in the Morris Funeral Home Chapel, 416 N. Main St., Hemingway, SC 29554.
