Richard "Dick" Allen Fenters, 89, died on February 26, 2022 in Hemingway, SC. He was born December 5, 1932 in Hemingway and was the son of the late Davis Tillman Fenters, Sr. and Eva Bennett Fenters. Richard was a graduate of Hemingway High School. Afterwards he briefly attended Clemson College (now University) before serving 4 years in the US Navy. While on one of his naval assignments in Oregon, he met the woman he would one day marry and subsequently bring with him to Hemingway. Using his passion for cars, he worked for his brother Don Fenters as a mechanic, auto body repairman and tow truck operator. He loved to hunt with his favorite hunting dog, Lemon, but more recently enjoyed driving around town with his little buddy, Bruno. He also enjoyed family snow skiing trips to West Virginia as well playing a nice game of Hearts and shooting the moon. As a member of the Hemingway First Baptist Church, he served as a deacon for many years. Richard married Audrey Roblin on September 17, 1955. He is survived by his wife. They were married for 66 years and had 7 children: Richard Jr. (Bill), Pam (Lamar), Kim (Gordon), Jerry (Crystal), Kenny (Denise), Danny (Charlene), and Tammy (Breit); 12 grandchildren: Lamar, Marcus, Gordon Jr, Tiffany, Robbie, Daniel, Chelsea, Roblin, Brandon, Noah, Audrey and Alyssa; 2 great-grandchildren: Aubrey and Hailey as well as another on the way; and lastly, his little Yorkie buddy, Bruno. He was predeceased by his brothers: Davis Tillman "D.T.", Bennett, Reynolds, and Don; and his sisters, Margie Tims and Mary Tokunaga. Funeral service will be held Sunday, March 6 at 3:00 PM at Hemingway First Baptist Church. Burial, directed by Morris Funeral Home of Hemingway, SC, will be in the Rose Hill Baptist Church Cemetery immediately after the service. The family will receive friends at 1:30 PM at the church prior to the service. Memorials may be made to: Hemingway First Baptist Church, PO Box 485, Hemingway, SC 29554. In lieu of flowers send donations to the American Heart Association or donate blood to the American Red Cross. The family would like to extend their appreciation and thanks to friends and family for all of their love and support during this time
