Richard Keith Lambert, 78, husband of Janet Lambert, passed away at his home on Tuesday, May 7, 2024.

Mr. Richard was born in Hemingway, SC, a son of the late Jim Melton and Toini Lambert.  After high school graduation, Mr. Richard attended Florence-Darlington Technical College and the University of South Carolina.  Throughout his career, he worked in the maintenance departments of a variety of industries including Fiber Industries; Wellman Industries, Inc.; and Domtar.  He enjoyed golfing and gardening; however, his greatest enjoyment was to bar-b-que "the old fashion way" over an open pit using his own home-made sauce.  He was a life-long member of Johnsonville United Methodist Church.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Richard is survived by one daughter, Michelle Lambert; one son, Jim "Champ" (Danielle) Lambert; grandchildren Ashford Lambert, Joshua Smith, SaraBeth Smith, Dylan Lambert, Tealey Lambert, and Savannah Lambert; two sisters, Kathy Badger and Gay Lawrimore; and one brother "Bingo" Lambert.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 16, 2024 in the Old Johnsonville Methodist Church Cemetery located at 865 S Georgetown Highway, Johnsonville, SC, 29555.

A Celebration of Life, hosted by the family, will be announced at a later date.
