RICHARD "RICKY" WAYNE GILL

Johnsonville, SC

Richard "Ricky" Wayne Gill, 42, husband of Karen Gill, passed away Wednesday, October 12, 2022 from injuries sustained in an auto accident on his way to help the hurricane victims in Florida.

Ricky was born in Manassas, VA, a son of Roger Gill and Sherry Floyd. He volunteered at the Florence County Parks and Rec. Department and enjoyed coaching rec baseball and football, watching his favorite team on TV, the Washington Redskins (now the Washington Commanders) and he was a lifelong fan of the Redskins. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, RC cars, riding four wheelers and dirt bikes, as well as being a Johnsonville Flashes Fan.

Most of all Ricky loved spending time with his family especially his children and doing whatever they wanted from playing video games to playing in the pool with his girls to playing in the front yard with his son and his friends. No matter what he loved watching his children grow up and he supported them in everything they wanted or tried to do.

He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Karen Gill and his children, Kaylea Jade Gill, Abby Nicole Gill, and Logan Riley Gill; parents, Roger Gill and Sherry Floyd; in-laws Jerry and Eveline Brooks; sisters, Nicole Everett (Josh) Jessica Keefe (Dalton), Kirsten Gill (TJ), Shannon Marsh; brother-in-law, Chris and Patricia Brooks; sister-in-law, Alysia and Daniel Carrigan; paternal grandparents, Teresa Gill; maternal grandmother, Peggy Floyd; uncles, Robby (Sonja) Gill, Rusty Gill, and Johnny Roseberry; aunt, Melanie (Robby) Jefferies; best friends, Ryan (Kelli) Vestal and Kevin (Tammy) Bean and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by an aunt, Pam Roseberry; grandfathers, Richard (Rookie) Floyd and Russell Gill; grandmother, Linda Floyd; cousins, Trey Roseberry and Robbie Jefferies; niece, Chloe Wedge; nephew, Brandon Whittaker.

Services will be held at 4:00 PM Monday, October 24, 2022 in the Morris Funeral Home Chapel, 416 N. Main St., Hemingway, SC 29554.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Sunday, October 23, 2022 in the Morris Funeral Home Chapel, 416 N. Main St., Hemingway, SC 29554.
