Roberta Parker Baxley, 78, widow of William Ronnie Baxley, passed away peacefully on August 9, 2026 at her daughter’s home in Galivant’s Ferry, South Carolina.
Born on May 14, 1948, in Florence, South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late [Mack Cloe and Lillie Belle Langley Parker.
Roberta was a member of the graduating Class of 1966 from Indiantown High School in Hemingway, South Carolina. She went on to build a meaningful career as a phone fraud investigator for Farmer's Telephone, where her dedication and attention to detail left a lasting impression.
A woman of deep faith and devotion, Roberta found joy in reading her Bible and cherished the quiet moments spent reflecting on its teachings. She also had a passion for working jigsaw puzzles and creating intricate cross-stitch pieces. Above all else, she treasured time spent with her grandchildren, all of who brought immense happiness to her life.
Roberta is survived by daughters Sonya Young and Kimberly (Greg) Tyler; grandchildren: Derick (Melissa) Smith, Kuala (Jamie) Bowers, Ashley (Steven) Oria, Allison (Clay) Fennell, Phillip Dennis, Britney (Justin) Humphries, Steven (Harley) Young, Christian (Hannah) Young, and Parker (Franklin) Gaskins; sixteen great-grandchildren and siblings: Tracy Parker, Andy Parker, Danny Parker, Johnny Parker, Judy Hodge, Mavis Riley, and Bruce Parker.
In addition to her husband and parents, Roberta was predeceased by her beloved daughter Michelle Leigh Stuckey Marsh and one great-grandchild.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 – 8:00 pm on Wednesday, August 12, 2026 in the Morris Funeral Home Chapel located at 416 N Main Street, Hemingway, South Carolina, 29554. A graveside funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 13, 2026 at Johnsonville Methodist Cemetery, 846 S Georgetown Highway, Johnsonville, South Carolina, 29555.
Memorial may be made in Roberta’s memory to El Chapman Worship Center, 1352 E Hemingway Highway, Hemingway, South Carolina, 29554.
