Roland Michael
Wall
Nov 6, 1961 — Apr 11, 2021
Johnsonville
Reverend Michael Wall, 59, of Johnsonville, SC passed away at his home on Sunday, April 11, 2021 after a brave battle with cancer. He fought the good fight, he finished his race and he kept the faith (2 Timothy 4:7).
He was preceded in death by his father, Robbie Wall and brother, Tony Wall. Surviving are his wife, Debbie Wall; two daughters, Kacey (Scotty) Lambert and Jessica Wall; three grandchildren, Annsley, Abby and Matthew; his mother Lena Wall; his mother-in-law Gracie Matthews; one sister Wanda (Michael) Duncan; and two brothers, Bob Wall and Sidney (Teresa) Wall along with many nieces and nephews.
Michael was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and pastor. Anyone who knew him loved, respected and admired him.
He loved his family with a fierce love. He was married to his bride, Debbie, for 35 years. His love for her grew with each passing day, and her presence is all he needed to be complete. His children and grandchildren were the joys of his life. He constantly poured out his love on them and wanted nothing more than to see them happy and serving the Lord. He taught them so many things that they will cherish forever, but perhaps most importantly, he demonstrated for them the power of prayer and a life lived for Christ.
He found great joy in life's simplest moments - spending quality time with family at home, working with his hands, listening to music and caring for his yard. His creativity and endearing nature shone through everything he did.
Although quiet and introverted by nature, when Michael spoke, you listened closely because you knew that his words would be profound. Michael was a natural leader who lived a life worth emulating. He leaves a legacy of love, character, strength and integrity.
A pastor for more than 20 years, Michael dedicated his life to his Lord, his family and his church - in that order. He lived a life completely surrendered to his Savior, Jesus Christ, and shared with everyone he could the hope we have in Jesus. When he stepped into a pulpit, God's anointing was on full display. He faithfully shepherded the people God put in his care throughout his pastorate.
In 2007, God gave him the vision to plant a church, Freedom & Liberty Worship Center, in Florence, SC. It is here that he served for 14 years, making an indelible mark on everyone who entered. This place will always be a special part of his legacy and identity.
Throughout his ministry, countless people have found the grace and hope Christ so freely gives.
Michael will truly be treasured and loved forever.
