Ronald Melvin "Catfish" Weber, widower of Lula Ann Weber, 78, passed away on September 5, 2025, at his home in Gresham, South Carolina.
Ronald, a son of the late Oscar and Irene Melvin was born on November 28, 1946, in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Known affectionately as "Catfish," Ronald built a respected career as a master carpenter and later worked as a heavy equipment operator for Carolina Sand. His craftsmanship and work ethic was impressive to those who worked alongside him and benefited from his skills.
A man of deep faith, Ronald was a longtime member of Hickory Hill Free Will Baptist Church in Gresham. He was actively involved in the church community, faithfully attending all functions and leading the church bus ministry for many years. His was committed to serving his Lord in any way possible.
Outside of work and church, Ronald found joy in the outdoors. He earned his nickname, "Catfish," by being an avid fisherman. His love of nature included time spent camping. More than anything, he cherished time spent with his family.
Ronald is survived by sons: Melvin (Jamie Cook) Weber; Joey (Linda Ward) Cannon; and Marco (Dawn Edge) Cannon; grandchildren: Hunter (Claudia Cox) Cannon and Tara Weber; great-grandchildren: Bentley Cannon and Holden Cannon; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial gathering in Ronald's memory will take place at a later date.
Memorial donations in Ronald's memory may be made to Hickory Hill FWB Church, 7234 Hickory Hill Road, Gresham, South Carolina, 29546.
