Ruth Cockfield Powell, 68, died Sunday, April 7, 2024 at McLeod Hospice House surrounded by her family.

Born October 2, 1955, in Hemingway, SC, Ms. Ruth was the daughter of the late Phillip Cockfield and the late Frances Singleton Cockfield.  She was of the Church of God faith.

Ms. Ruth is survived by three children, Michele Lyerly Robertson (Tim) of Manning and Johnny George and Barbara Barefoot, both of Hemingway; three grandchildren, Brianna Johnson (Ryan) of Manning, Triston Barefoot of Myrtle Beach, and Alyssa Gallegos of Andrews; a great-granddaughter, Avery Johnson; three brothers; five sisters; and several nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 13, 2024 in the Morris Funeral Home Chapel located at 416 N Main Street, Hemingway, SC, 29554.
