Sarah Ann Bell Ray, 73, widow of Sam Ray, passed away Tuesday, August 31, 2021 in the McLeod Hospice House.

Mrs. Sarah was born in Hemingway, SC, a daughter of the late Limpy Creel and Sadie Lucille Tanner Creel. She was a homemaker and was a member of the Word of Life Church. She enjoyed fishing, working in her yard, but most of all she loved spending time with her family especially the grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughters, Amy Ray and Amanda Ray (Jeff) Strickland; grandchildren, Jennifer (Allen) Harper, Randa Strickland (Alex) Edwards, Alyssa Grace Strickland, and Samatha "Sam" Strickland; great-grandchildren, Case Harper, Lee Harper, and Abigail Edwards; sister, Debra (Bo Bo) Walden; brother, William Russell Creel; aunt, Naomy Tanner Creel; uncle, Red Tanner; a number of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews; she was known as "Granny" to Wanda, Wesley, Whitney, and Wynter.

She is predeceased by sisters, Estelle Bouchette, Pansy Nelson, and Monta Woodard

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, September 5, 2021 in the Morris Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Lake Chapel Cemetery, 860 Lake Chapel Road, Johnsonville, SC 29555.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Saturday, September 4, 2021 in the Morris Funeral Home Chapel, 416 N. Main St., Hemingway, SC 29554.
