Sherri Melaine (Gray) Taylor, age 48, passed away Monday, July 8, 2019, at her home in Hemingway, SC. She was born April 13, 1971 in Washington, PA to Melvin and Jo Elaine (Syrek) Gray. She was raised in Washington, PA. Sherri was a 1989 graduate of General McLane High School in Edinboro, PA. She went on to earn her degree in cosmetology from JH Thompson Beauty Academy in Eerie, PA. She graduated in 1991 before working in Pennsylvania as an award-winning cosmetologist. She later moved to Myrtle Beach, SC to continue her work. She married George Slade Taylor in 2001. Sherri was a loving mother and friend.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Jo Elaine. and her daughter, Gray Melaine Taylor.
Sherri is survived by her husband and two sons, Vincent Luke Patrick Gray and fiancé, Shelby of Akron, OH, and Slade Lee Brian Taylor of Hemingway, SC; two brothers, Mel Gray and wife, Becky of Washington, PA, and Brian Gray or Loris, SC; and uncle, Ed Syrek and wife, Brenda of Ocean Lakes, Myrtle Beach, SC. She is also survived by countless cousins.

John 14:27 says, "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid." Sherri was a loving wife, mother, sister, and friend who will be missed deeply by all but know that while life may have changed forever, it has not ended.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, July 13th, 2019 at Loris First Presbyterian Church with Pastor Dr. Tim Osment officiating.
