T.J. Stalvey, Jr., husband of Terri Newton Stalvey, passed away Friday, February 14, 2020 at his home.

Mr. T. J. was born in Hemingway, SC, a son of the late Tommy J. Stalvey, Sr., and the late Mary Belle Cox Stalvey. He was retired after 46 years from Stalvey Loans Inc. where he served as a stock holder, on the Board of Directors, and as President. He also served on the Hemingway Town Council for 12 years.

He was a member of the Rehobeth Pentecostal Holiness Church for many years. He also attended the Huggins Chapel Southern Methodist Church where he assisted with the music ministry. He was a member of the Lucky 13 Hunting Club. T. J. enjoyed hunting, fishing, but he loved playing Bluegrass music at the barn most of all.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Terri Newton Stalvey; children, Ryan (Nicole) Stalvey, Amanda Jean Stalvey, and Amie (Witte) Cribb; brother, Reid (Cherie) Stalvey; grandchildren, Parker Stalvey, Ella Stalvey, Tucker Cribb, and Karter Cribb; nieces, Katelin (Spencer) Owens and Brittney Stalvey; nephews, Elliott (Kate) Newton and Casey Newton.
He was predeceased by a brother, Brad Stalvey; sister, Carolyn Stalvey.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, February 17, 2020 in the Rehobeth Pentecostal Holiness Church. Burial, directed by Morris Funeral Home of Hemingway, SC, will be in the Trinity United Methodist Church Cemetery, 114 E. Trinity Road, Johnsonville, SC 29555.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Sunday, February 16, 2020 in the Morris Funeral Home Chapel, 416 N. Main St., Hemingway, SC 29554.
