Teresa Rhames Powell, 59, widow of Lash Powell, passed away at Senior Care of Marion on Sunday, September 28, 2025.

A daughter of the late Diane Carpenter and James "Sack" Rhames, Teresa was born on September 7, 1966, in Florence, South Carolina.  She was a beloved daughter, mother, sister, and grandmother whose presence brought warmth and familiarity to those around her.  She spent her days surrounded by family and the simple joys that brought her happiness.

Teresa found joy in life's everyday pleasures. She loved going to Walmart and McDonald's—places that became part of her routine and comfort. Thrift shopping was her favorite pastime, a hobby that reflected both her resourcefulness and eye for hidden treasures. She also enjoyed reading and immersing herself in crime shows, always intrigued by the stories they told.

Teresa is survived by a daughter, Katie (Trey) Chandler; a son, Justin Powell; a grandson, Chip Chandler; her father, James "Sack" Rhames; a brother, Rickey Rhames; and a sister, Lisa (James) Parsons.

A Memorial Service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 5, 2025 at Word of Life Church,  942 S Clayfield Road, Johnsonville, SC, 29555.
