Terry Neil Owens, Senior, age 78, passed away in the comfort of his home surrounded by his family on Tuesday, August 8, 2023.

Born November 16, 1944, in Georgetown County, Terry Neil was the son of the late Cornelius Bernice Owens and Lula Belle Wilder Owens. He was a US Navy veteran and served two years on the USS Hancock during the Vietnam war. Later in life, Terry Neil worked as a carpenter and was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.   He loved to worship the Lord through his music and was serving as an active Deacon.

Survivors include his sweetheart of 58 years, Andy Watson Owens; daughter, Mirandi (Kerry) Squires; son, Terry Neil Owens, Junior (Loretta); daughter, Sandi Owens Penland (Michael Jordan); grandchildren, Ashton (Mitchell) Devlin, Courtney (Justin) Owens, Gracelynn Squires, Anna Moore, Isabelle Owens, Brady Moore, Kaleb Owens, Connor Penland; great-granddaughter, Blakely Owens; sisters, Belva Ann (Dave) Wolter of Georgetown and Marie (Dan) Howard of Pleasant Hill; sister-in-law, Almina Owens of Andrews; honorary sister, Nancy Owens; all of his many special nieces and nephews; neighbors, Carolyn Springs, Alice Cribb, Nickey (Patsy) Lewis, Malene Baxley, Cliff Edwards; special loved ones Taylor, Jeana, Ryan, Jordan, Cassidy and Edsel Moore; and loyal fur companions, Spunky, Ginger, Janie, and Buster Brown.

He was predeceased by his parents, Cornelius Bernice Owens and Lula Belle Wilder Owens; brothers, William Bernice Owens, Roger Wayne Owens, and Samuel Robert Owens; a grandson, Wayne Kerry Squires; sister-in-law, Inez Owens; honorary brother, Jerry Owens, and mother-in-law, Eloise Jeffords Watson; and son-in-law, Kevin Penland.

Terry Neil leaves his family the legacy of a Godly man with great faith.

Funeral services will be held Friday, August 11, 2023, at 3 PM in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, 11904 Pleasant Hill Dr., Hemingway, SC 29554. Internment directed by Morris Funeral Home will be in the Church cemetery.

The family will receive friends and loved ones at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Family Life Center on Thursday, August 10, 2023 from 5PM-8PM.
